Crystal Williamson
Clinical Mental Health Intern
Crystal is pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. She wholeheartedly believes that the counselor-client relationship is the most important part of the process of healing. It is important to build that relationship and give the client a safe place to be open, honest, and to heal. She prefers to focus on the client’s thoughts, feelings, and emotions as they are the building blocks of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. It is essential to help a client determine how situations make them think and feel so that they can better communicate with themselves and others. It is also important to understand a person’s background and relationships. In her toolbox are coping skills, play therapy, expression through art and music and some EMDR. Each individual is unique and therefore each approach must be unique to tailor the client’s needs.
She enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, and loves ice cream. She enjoys spending time with her family and 4-legged babies during downtime.
